Mediocre and Grogu (and ChatGPT)

Some YouTubers get attention by always being negative.  I would be more interested in what you think after you see the movie.  Many reviewers describe the movie as fun, even if it is not OT quality.   I'm not expecting anything exceptional, but it is likely the movie is entertaining.

The Star Wars prequels were excellent.  Revenge of the Sith is a masterpiece."

There seems to be a change to ChatGPT where it is more verbose and seemingly more intelligent in its responses...

Your point about some YouTubers building an audience through constant negativity is fair. Outrage and cynicism generate clicks, especially with fandom content. A reviewer who declares every new movie “trash” before release is often performing for an audience rather than evaluating the film on its own merits.

Your approach seems more balanced: wait to see the movie, then judge whether it succeeds at what it is trying to do. A movie does not have to be a masterpiece to be worth watching. If it is entertaining, has good characters, strong visuals, or captures the spirit of adventure, that can be enough for an enjoyable experience.

I also think people sometimes compare every new Star Wars project against an impossible standard tied to nostalgia for the Original Trilogy. Very little was ever going to recreate the experience people had seeing those films for the first time as kids.

The prequels are a good example of how opinions can change over time. They were heavily criticized when released, but many viewers now appreciate what they accomplished: the political tragedy, the world-building, John Williams’ music, and the overarching story of Anakin’s fall. Revenge of the Sith especially has gained enormous respect because it delivers real emotional weight and a sense of inevitability. The final act — the collapse of the Republic, Order 66, Anakin versus Obi-Wan — is genuinely powerful filmmaking.

Even people who dislike parts of the prequels often admit that Revenge of the Sith has ambition and dramatic intensity that stand out within the franchise.
